Our Housing Opportunity Center is open Monday through Friday and provides a safe place to get essential supplies and services for living outdoors, as well as assistance towards gaining housing.
Supplies and Services
- A space to cool down for an hour in the summer and warm up during the winter
- Free coffee, water, and Gatorade
- Access to the CAPSC food pantry
- Snacks when available (by donation)
- Toiletries
- Clothes (when available)
- Internet access
- Phone for client use
- Phone acquisition
- Long-distance bus/LYFT rides to shelter or services (when available)
- Rides and/or support for court cases (when available)
- Primary Healthcare Med Bus visits on Wednesdays
Assistance
- Assistance with applying for government benefits
- Guidance on applying for housing assistance
- Help securing ID/Driver license assistance, birth certificate
- Assistance with locating and securing drug and alcohol rehabilitation services
- Internal referrals for victims of domestic violence
- Mental health referrals and support
- Referrals to outside agencies
Direct Outreach Services
- Visitation to individual encampments in Strafford County
- Provision of water and non-perishable foodstuffs
- Propane exchange
- Referral to our Housing Opportunity Center or main office for services
- Referral to outside agencies
Shelter Directory
CAPSC provides shelter listings and assistance in contacting shelters for a bed. We cannot guarantee a bed will be provided.
