Upcoming Focus Group at Covered Bridge Manor Aims to Improve Senior Transportation Services

Senior residents of Strafford County will soon have the opportunity to help shape the future of senior transportation services in Strafford County, as Community Action Partnership of Strafford County (CAPSC) plans to host a focus group in collaboration with University of New Hampshire (UNH) marketing students- who have been working in partnership with CAPSC throughout the Spring 2026 semester, as part of a special project in an undergraduate marketing workshop course.

The focus group will take place on Tuesday, April 14 from 3:00 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Covered Bridge Manor, located at 280 County Farm Road in Dover. Covered Bridge Manor is a senior apartment building owned by CAPSC, with 26 residents age 62 and older living independently.

The session is designed to gather feedback from residents about their transportation needs, challenges, and experiences, with the goal of strengthening and expanding services that support independence and access to essential resources.

“This is an exciting opportunity to learn directly from our residents and better understand how we can improve and expand senior transportation services in our community,” said Betsey Andrews Parker, Chief Executive Officer of CAPSC. “Hearing firsthand experiences helps ensure that our programs truly meet the needs of the people we serve.”

Andrews Parker noted that the initiative is part of an ongoing effort to better align services with community needs, particularly for older adults who may face barriers to reliable transportation.

The collaboration also provides UNH students with hands-on experience in community-based research, while strengthening connections between local organizations and academic partners.

Ample visitor parking is available at Covered Bridge Manor in front of the building to the right.

CAPSC Mission and Vision

Founded in 1965, CAPSC is the sole provider in Strafford County to offer a full suite of programs and services designed to have a measurable impact on the health and welfare of at-risk children, seniors, and people experiencing low incomes.

Without the services provided by our agency, many local residents would be without a means to provide for their basic needs, including food, education, child care, utilities assistance, transportation, housing, emergency shelter and access to other services.
