Community Action Partnership of Strafford County (CAPSC) recently concluded a semester-long partnership with marketing students from the University of New Hampshire’s Paul College of Business and Economics, focused on better understanding and engaging the more than 24,000 residents CAPSC serves throughout Strafford County each year.
Throughout the semester, the student team worked closely with CAPSC leadership to analyze client demographics, identify communication trends, and evaluate opportunities to strengthen outreach efforts across the organization’s programs and services.
As part of the project, students hosted a focus group with seniors living at Covered Bridge Manor, CAPSC’s affordable senior housing community in Dover. The discussion provided valuable insight into how older adults access information, engage with community resources, and perceive local support services.
The partnership also included two formal presentations delivered to CAPSC staff and leadership, where students shared research findings and recommendations related to marketing strategy, social media engagement, and community outreach.
On Tuesday, May 5, the students presented their final findings during a grand conference hosted by UNH Paul College, where student groups showcased semester-long projects to nonprofit and business leaders, professors, and peers. The event featured professional presentations, networking opportunities, and a breakfast reception for attendees.
“We are incredibly grateful to the students and faculty at UNH Paul College for their thoughtful work and collaboration throughout this project,” said Betsey Andrews Parker, CEO of Community Action Partnership of Strafford County. “Their research and recommendations will help strengthen the way we connect with the community and ensure residents are aware of the programs and resources available to them.”
The collaboration reflects CAPSC’s continued commitment to listening to community voices and adapting outreach strategies to better serve residents across Strafford County.
