A Swing for Success: The 23rd Annual CAPSC Classic Golf Tournament Raises Funds for Early Childhood Education

Published on October 14, 2024 | Fundraising

We are thrilled to announce the success of our annual fundraising golf tournament, the CAPSC Classic, which brought together dedicated golfers, generous sponsors, and community members to support early childhood education programming at Community Action Partnership of Strafford County. The event, held under bright blue skies and in high spirits at Cocheco Country Club, raised a whopping $60,000 that will go directly to enhancing and expanding ECE programs, ensuring that young children have access to the resources and opportunities they need during their critical early years.

A Day of Fun, Purpose, and Generosity

From the moment golfers arrived at the course, it was clear that this tournament was about more than just great drives and perfect putts—it was about coming together for a cause that will have a lasting impact on the future of our community. Participants teed off bright and early, with teams enjoying the beautiful weather, friendly competition, and camaraderie that golf provides.

Golfers competed for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prizes and competed in hole games throughout the course.  You can check out the winning teams here.

The event was made even more memorable by fun challenges and a silent auction.

Thank You to Our Sponsors and Supporters

This event would not have been possible without the incredible support of our sponsors, donors, and volunteers. We extend our deepest gratitude to all the local businesses, organizations, and individuals who contributed to making the tournament a success, including the many local businesses that donated auction items.  From local restaurants to craft beer collections, sporting events and special experiences, these donated items were a hit with participants and made the day even more special.

CAPSC Mission and Vision

Founded in 1965, CAPSC is the sole provider in Strafford County to offer a full suite of programs and services designed to have a measurable impact on the health and welfare of at-risk children, seniors, and people experiencing low incomes.

Without the services provided by our agency, many local residents would be without a means to provide for their basic needs, including food, education, child care, utilities assistance, transportation, housing, emergency shelter and access to other services.
