Community Action Partnership of Strafford County Partners with Hannaford for “Fight Hunger” Bag Fundraiser Throughout October:
Press Release, October 6, 2025 –
Community Action Partnership of Strafford County is pleased to announce their ongoing partnership with Hannaford through the Hannaford Helps Reusable Bag Program.
Through this partnership, Hannaford will donate $1 for every Fight Hunger reusable bag sold at its Lilac Mall store in Rochester during the month of October. The Fight Hunger reusable bags retail at $2.50 and are made from 95% recycled materials from either nonwoven or woven polypropylene.
The Hannaford Helps Reusable Bag Program began in April 2014, when the first Fight Hunger bag was sold. According to Hannaford, since its inception, the program has donated more than $3.5 million to more than 6,500 nonprofit organizations and sold over 4 million reusable bags.
Community Action Partnership of Strafford County has been a nonprofit partner and recipient of the Fight Hunger Bag Program since June 2014, just three months after the program commenced.
Each month, local Hannaford store leaders choose to benefit a different organization from their list of beneficiaries, with the Fight Hunger Bag Program. Throughout the month, Community Action Partnership of Strafford County’s name will be displayed above the reusable bag rack inside the store, where customers can choose the Fight Hunger bag. Meeting a list of qualifications set by Hannaford for the Fight Hunger Bag Program, the Community Action Partnership of Strafford County has qualified to be a beneficiary of the program at four participating locations, including Hannaford stores in Dover and Rochester.
Throughout the entire month of October, $1 of every $2.50 Fight Hunger bag sold at the Rochester Hannaford store located at 11 Milton Road #2, will benefit Community Action Partnership of Strafford County.
