On Monday, January 12, representatives from Community Action Partnership of Strafford County (CAPSC) attended a celebration ceremony at Dunkin’ in Dover, NH to celebrate a $10,000 grant awarded to the organization by the Dunkin’ Joy in Childhood Foundation.

The Dunkin’ Joy in Childhood Foundation is dedicated to bringing joy to children battling hunger or illness. Each year, the Foundation provides grants annually to hundreds of nonprofits through multiple programs, including Community Impact Grants – supporting nonprofit organizations nominated by members of the Dunkin’ community – and Signature Program Grants, which are available to mission-aligned hospitals and community health centers.

CAPSC was nominated for a Community Impact Grant by a local Dunkin’ franchisee, Durval Salema, qualifying the organization to apply for funding. The grant was awarded in 2025 in the amount of $10,000 to support CAPSC’s work serving individuals and families throughout Strafford County.

The Dunkin’ Joy in Childhood Foundation has distributed more than $1.6 million in grants to 94 local nonprofit organizations across the Northeast, including Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Maine, Vermont, Connecticut, and Upstate New York. These grants are part of a nationwide $6.5 million distribution of funds, supporting the Foundation’s mission to provide the simple joys of childhood to kids battling hunger or illness.

Alongside CAPSC, a range of local hospitals, food pantries, community centers and children’s nonprofits were also selected as grant recipients. A full list of all 94 Northeast grant recipients can be found here.

During the celebration event, Dunkin’ representatives presented CAPSC with a $10,000 check, while attendees mingled, enjoyed coffee and discussed the impact of CAPSC’s social service programs within Strafford County.

“We are so grateful to organizations like the Dunkin’ Joy in Childhood Foundation, who not only support the work that we do, but also look for ways to bring extra joy to the people we serve,” Betsey Andrews Parker, Chief Executive Officer of CAPSC said. CAPSC Mission and Vision

Founded in 1965, CAPSC is the sole provider in Strafford County to offer a full suite of programs and services designed to have a measurable impact on the health and welfare of at-risk children, seniors, and people experiencing low incomes.

Without the services provided by our agency, many local residents would be without a means to provide for their basic needs, including food, education, child care, utilities assistance, transportation, housing, emergency shelter and access to other services.
