Course Details

When you play golf at the CAPSC Classic, you have access to one of the hidden gems in Dover, Cochecho Country Club. While Cochecho is a members-only, private country club, you do not have to be a member to play in our tournament! This gives you the opportunity to play on a course you may not have access to year-round.

Cochecho is a shot maker’s course and is a challenge for players of all ability levels offering four sets of tees to provide maximum enjoyment for all ages. The course measures 6,210 yards from the Blue tees, 5,959 from the White, 5,432 from the Gold and 4,804 yards from the Green markers. The course is a Par 70, rated at 70.0 with a slope of 123 and the women’s par is set at 74.

The following will show you the details for each hole at Cochecho.

Handicap Men: 12 Women: 6

Deep fairway bunkers guard the left side and trees line the right. A well hit tee shot leaves you with a mid to short iron into a large, back-to-front sloping green.

Handicap Men: 2 Women: 16

Out of bounds lurks to the right off the tee. Two long shots are needed to reach this green in regulation.

Hint: be sure to keep your ball below the hole.

Handicap Men: 16 Women: 14

This short par three requires a well-placed tee shot to have a makeable putt on this large green. An extra half club might be needed on this slightly uphill hole. Favor the right side of the green here.

Handicap Men: 18 Women: 18

Keep the driver in the bag on this short hole, and stay to the left side of the fairway. Your approach to this right to left sloping green is critical, as it is well guarded by a multitude of bunkers on the short and left sides.

Handicap Men: 4 Women: 2

A 200 yard shot will get you to the center of the corner of this dogleg right. Be sure to hit an extra club into this blind green, aiming to the right of the big tree. The green slopes severely right to left and away from incoming shots.

Handicap Men: 6 Women: 10

Keeping your drive to the left-center of this fairway will ensure the best angle of approach into this right-to-left sloping green. It’s possible there may be a gallery on this spectator hole that comes back to the clubhouse, so be sure to give them something to cheer for!

Handicap Men:10 Women: 4

What you see is what you get here. Put it right down the middle of this wide, tree lined fairway. You can trust the yardage into this blind green, which slopes slightly away from you.

Handicap Men:14 Women: 12

A reachable par 5 for the long hitter, beware of OB down the entire right side, and the pond in front of the green. Aim for the transformer on the telephone pole if you decide to lay up.

Handicap Men: 8 Women: 8

Hole In One Prize: $15,000

The longest of the par threes, give this tee shot all you’ve got to get on the green and avoid trickling back down the false front. Out of bounds waits behind the green on this challenging hole.

Handicap Men: 13 Women: 94

Swing away from this elevated tee that starts your back nine. Most approach shots tend to run from front to back, but you can trust the yardage.

Handicap Men: 1 Women: 3

The most difficult hole on the course, this long, dog-leg par four requires two well played shots to have a chance at par. Take an extra club or two on your second shot to reach this deep, two-tiered green.

Handicap Men: 15 Women: 15

Hole in One Prize: $15,000

An elevated tee displays this challenging par three. Hitting one less club is a wise idea. Missing the green to the right is not recommended.

Handicap Men: 7 Women: 13

A left to right tee shot is the desired play on this par four. The narrow chute at the tee gives way to a wide fairway. Finding the correct tier on this elevated green is key. Short or long will leave a difficult up and down. Hit an extra club on this approach shot to avoid the tricky false front.

Handicap Men: 3 Women: 5

Fondly referred to as “Hogan’s Alley”, this challenging hole threatens OB on the left and a sharp breaking right slope at the top of the hill to the right. A 200 yard tee shot to the left center of the fairway is critical to place you safely in position, leaving you with a mid to long iron into a firm green that slopes slightly away from you.

Handicap Men: 17 Women: 11

Fresh Creek frames this picturesque par three, and wind can be a factor. Proper club selection is essential to have a chance at getting safely on this large green. Don’t miss the green left here!

Handicap Men: 11 Women: 1

Big hitters can try to cut the corner, but the reward is minimal. A 200 yard shot will put you safely to the corner of this long par five. A second 200 yard shot will leave you with a short iron or wedge to this steeply elevated green. Hit an extra club on your approach here.

Handicap Men: 9 Women: 7

Avoid the pond and out of bounds on the left and you will be rewarded with a mid length second shot into one of the flattest greens on the golf course. A good score here is important with the difficult 18th ahead.

Handicap Men: 5 Women: 17

A well hit tee shot is a must on this long finishing hole for any chance of getting home in regulation. If you decide to lay up, keep your ball toward the left side, as a large pond guards the right side of the approach to this two tiered, right to left green.
