Ways to Give
Our donors make our work possible, and we are grateful for your investment in our organization, our community, and, most importantly, the people we serve. Together, we can feed the hungry, house the homeless, educate our children, train our workforce, and provide support for seniors. There are a variety of giving opportunities for donors at every level that will allow you to achieve your personal philanthropic and financial goals.
We value your privacy and adhere to the principles of the nationally recognized Donor Bill of Rights.
Cash Gifts: Payable by check or credit card, one-time or recurring cash gifts are one method of investing in CAPSC. You can donate online by completing our secure form. If you prefer to pay by check, please send your gift to:
Community Action Partnership of Strafford County
Attn: Advancement Office
P.O. Box 160
Dover, NH 03821-0160
There are many other gift options other than cash as a way to contribute to CAPSC. Planned giving options may open up opportunities for you to achieve a greater level of investment and leave a legacy. Through careful planning, your gift may also bring significant tax advantages, including reduction of capital gains or estate taxes. We strongly advise that you consult your tax and financial counsel about your charitable decisions to ensure you are making the most of your contributions.
Bequest: A charitable bequest in your estate plan is a simple way to make a legacy gift to CAPSC while enjoying the assets you need to maintain your current lifestyle. You can make a bequest by adding specific language to an existing will or drafting a new one.
General Bequest Language: "I give, devise, and bequeath to Community Action Partnership of Strafford County in Dover, New Hampshire, the sum of $________(or a description of the specific asset), for the benefit of Community Action Partnership of Strafford County and its general purposes."
Our tax ID number is 02-0268636.
Life Insurance: Life insurance gives you the opportunity to make a significant gift with tax benefits you can enjoy during your lifetime. Whether you donate an older policy you no longer need, or start a new policy to benefit CAPSC, life insurance offers a unique way to leverage a larger gift than you thought possible.
Retirement Assets: By naming Community Action Partnership of Strafford County as the beneficiary of the remainder of your IRAs or other retirement benefit plans, you may be able to avoid significant taxation for your family after your passing.
Gifts of Appreciated Assets: Gifts of appreciated assets can include stocks, property, or other tangible assets that have appreciated in value. Giving a gift of appreciated stocks, other securities, or assets may have considerable tax benefits and may entitle you to an income tax charitable deduction for the fair market value of the asset on the date of your gift. This benefits you by allowing you to make a gift while costing you less, and it may help you avoid a capital gains liability. Please consult a financial professional to ensure this method of giving has the greatest benefit to you.
