CAPSC is successful because of the people and partnerships that allow us to serve and empower Strafford County residents. One of those vital partnerships is the relationship we have with COAST, which connects people and communities in so many ways beyond the transportation services their buses provide.

COAST is a true leader on the Seacoast, and one we’re happy to honor as our 2023 Champion Award winner. The award annually celebrates an organization or community member that has gone and above and beyond in giving back to Strafford County. COAST has done just that and more over its 41 years of service, acting as an invaluable, important resource for so many people.

“Our mission is to get people to where they need to be and where they want to be, and that’s what drives us. We also believe in partnerships with organizations like Community Action Partnership of Strafford County and all of the other community-based nonprofits in the region. We believe when we all work together cooperatively, it strengthens the impacts of all of our programs.”

– COAST Executive Director Rad Nichols, who accepted the Champion Award at our 57th Annual Meeting in May

Without COAST, CAPSC’s programs would be unfathomably different, as would Strafford and Rockingham counties. Thank you, COAST, for all that you do, and congratulations on this well-deserved honor!

CAPSC’s Mission and Vision

Founded in 1965, CAPSC is the sole provider in Strafford County to offer a full suite of programs and services designed to have a measurable impact on the health and welfare of at-risk children, seniors, and people experiencing low incomes.

Without the services provided by our agency, many local residents would be without a means to provide for their basic needs, including food, education, child care, utilities assistance, transportation, housing, emergency shelter and access to other services.

COAST

COAST was formed in the early 1980s out of a broad community interest to improve mass transportation options in southeastern New Hampshire. Their services make it possible for many Strafford County residents to be successful, live, work, and play. Their services also help many people obtain resources and services at CAPSC.
