Time to Celebrate! Covered Bridge Senior Housing Turns 20

Published on March 29, 2024 | Impact

March 22, 2024 marked an important milestone for Community Action Partnership of Strafford County and the senior community, with the 20th anniversary of the establishment of Covered Bridge Manor Senior Housing.  To honor the current residents and reflect on fond memories over the past 2 decades, we threw a party in celebration!

Memories and recollections were passed around among residents, which included Norma, Maggie, and Carol, a few of our original residents!

Here is what they have to say…

Well I’ve met a lot of different types of people, and that’s made it interesting.

Maggie, Original Resident

Oh, I enjoy everything that we’ve ever had, we are spoiled in the first place, we don’t have to shovel our car out.  Danielle is very good to all of us.  She does so much for all of us.

Carol, Original Resident

I’m very glad that I got here.  This is my kind of place.

Norma, Original Resident

Let me just say that Covered Bridge is one of my favorite places to hang out, I love it so much.

Senior Housing

One of the least-served populations in Strafford County are residents over the age of 65. It is an unfortunate reality that the needs of our seniors only increase with age while, simultaneously, they are gradually forgotten by the community. Through a cooperation with the Dover Housing Authority (DHA), we work with elderly residents in becoming or remaining financially and socially independent through a variety of coordinated programs, with the goal of helping them age in place in a supportive environment.

Ways to Get Involved

We thank the many members of our community who give their time, their skilled expertise, and their warm smiles in support of the programs at CAPSC. If you are interested in getting involved in one of our programs, we have many options.

Whether you are interested in a one-time event, or want to find a recurring volunteer spot, our goal is to try to match our needs with your interests, and to grow our family of caring individuals who give so much back to their community.
